The SIA Peewee/Jr. High pep rally today and the High School pep rally tomorrow are being held in honor of Charlie Ray, a 6th grade student with muscular dystrophy. The pep rally theme is "Rockin' for a Cure" and students raised money for Coach to Cure by selling themed t-shirts.
Coach To Cure MD is a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), a professional organization for over 10,000 college and high school football coaches and staff, and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest national charity devoted exclusively to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Their primary goals are to raise awareness of the disease and raise money to fund research for a cure.
Pep Rallies for both days begin at 2:20 PM.
