Tell us a little bit about yourself, your background, your interests, etc.
I'm from Rolling Fork. I attended Delta State University and the University of Mississippi gaining a M.S. in Communicative Disorders to become a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I've worked as a SLP in hospitals, rehabs, nursing homes, and schools. I have always loved math and science and hope students will enjoy science at SIA and go on to pursue science based professions.
Do you have a favorite book? How about a favorite movie?
I enjoy Christian apologetics.
If you could wake up in the morning and start a new adventure, what would it be?
Traveling across the country. I've traveled some, but there is so much of the country that I haven't seen.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
It is very rewarding to see kids have a light bulb go off when they understand a difficult concept.
When your're not working, how do you spend your time?
Chasing my 3 kids! They keep me busy.
What might we be surprised to know about you?
I still work weekends and holidays as a SLP at UMC because I enjoy the work I get to do there!
